QUESTIONS FROM THE PUBLIC

Mrs Cotterill of Wessiters referred to her letter submitted in response to application 06/2790 Conygar, Highcliffe Cres., which she opposed.

Mr & Mrs Craven of Wessiters spoke on application 06/2790 Conygar, Highcliffe Cres.

They pointed out that the land sloped from the proposed development, resulting in an overbearing and dominant building, causing loss of privacy to their property. They were also concerned that the previously approved outline application was for a single storey building with a condition that no windows were to be permitted on the eastern elevation of any dwelling.

305/06DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Cllrs Burrows and Garner declared that they were not members of this committee and would therefore not vote on any matters.

306/06PLANNING APPLICATIONS

06/2476/FUL 4-bedroomed detached house, land at 27 Marlpit Lane, Seaton

Members unanimously recommended Refusal on the grounds that the proposed development was disproportionately large and totally inappropriate for the plot.

06/2709/MFUL part demolition and conversion of hotel into 8 flats with 2 ground commercial units, erection of 3 dwellings to rear and provision of car parking for 8 vehicles. Re-submission of previously approved application 05/2158/MFUL, The Pole Arms Hotel, Fore Street, Seaton (amended plans)

Members unanimously recommended Approval on the proviso that there were no further amendments because the plan now being considered was considerably different to that originally approved.

06/2769/FUL extension and alterations, 10 Honey Ditches Drive, Seaton

Members unanimously recommended Approval

06/2772/FUL single storey extension with garage, 7 Wychall Park, Seaton

Members unanimously recommended Approval

06/2790/OUT new dwelling and detached garage, Conygar, Highcliffe Cres, Seaton

Members unanimously recommended Refusal on the grounds of overdevelopment and the proposed dwelling being totally unsuitable for the site. Members were opposed to a two-storey building and agreed that the conditions of the previously approved outline application 87/P0148 should continue to be applied, particularly that there should not be any windows on the eastern elevation

06/2828/FUL single storey extension to provide kitchen and additional wc, The Galley, Esplanade, Seaton.

Members unanimously recommended Refusal on the grounds that the proposed extension was overdevelopment, inappropriate for the site and would result in loss of light and privacy to neighbouring businesses. It was also noted that the original application for this site had been refused and Members saw no reason to change that recommendation.

307/06CORRESPONDENCE

Copy letter from Mr Nightingale – EDDC re. 8 Honey Ditches

Members unanimously agreed that issues raised by the public should be acknowledged and answered by EDDC Officers. The Clerk was requested to write to Mr Nightingale and invite him to advise them of the outcome of his correspondence with EDDC.
