There were no declarations of interest

581/06MINUTES

Minutes of the meeting held on 12th March 2007 wee approved and signed by the chairman.

582/06TO NOTE AND APPROVE THE MONTHLY SCHEDULE OF PAYMENTS

The monthly schedule of payments was noted and approved

583/06TO NOTE BUDGET AND BANK BALANCES TO DATE

The budget and bank balances to date were noted.

584/06TO CONSIDER BMX DIRT TRACK BEHIND SKATEBOARD PARK

Members supported the provision of a BMX track in principle but in view of the suggested site being within the regeneration area, it was difficult to put forward any firm proposals. The Clerk was requested to seek the views of EDDC.

585/06TO DISCUSS SAFETY REGARDING BEACH MATTING

In view of Cllr Burrows’s absence, this item was to be deferred until the next meeting.

586/06TO CONSIDER RENEWAL OF MEMBERSHIP TO DAPC AND DPFA

It was unanimously agreed to renew membership to DAPC and DPFA.

587/06TO NOTE STREET COLLECTION PERMITS – FESTIVALS

The Clerk was requested to place this item on the agenda of the next Council meeting

588/06TO DISCUSS GRANT APPLICATION FROM SHELTER

As there was no provision in the 2007/8 budget for grants, the Clerk was requested to respond accordingly.

589/06TO RECEIVE WRITTEN REPORT ON TOWNSEND HOUSE PATIENT GROUP MEETING, 21st March 2007

590/06CORRESPONDENCE

a) Mr A Hill – Seaton Land Train

Mr Hill’s concerns about the Land Train were noted. Members, however, reiterated their previously stated support for this initiative and noted that the train was properly licensed and approved.

b) Mrs M Landick – Sport and Tourism

Mrs Landick had raised concerns with EDDC about the boarding up of the Pavilion at Seafield Gardens, and at vandalism generally within that area. It was noted that the Pavilion had been repaired. The Clerk was requested to respond and seek Mrs Landick’s views on her proposal that a group “Friends of Seafield Gardens” be established.

A vote of thanks was given to Cllr Morgan for chairing this committee during the last year.
