Council Meetings

Council - Seaton Town Council meetings involve all twelve Councillors and meetings take place on a monthly basis (normally the first Monday of each month).  Where matters arise that need to be dealt with before the next meeting of Council, as Extraordinary meeting of Council is called.

Seaton Town Council has a number of Committees:

Planning - Seaton Town Council is a consultee for the local planning authority, which is East Devon District Council. They have the final decision for all planning applications. Our Planning Meetings are usually held at 7pm on a fortnightly cycle.

Finance & General Purposes - The Finance and General Purposes committee primarily reviews expenditure against the budget, which is set around January time for the following year. Meetings are held approximately once each month at 7pm unless scheduled on the same evening as a Planning Committee meeting.  When this happens the Finance and General Purposes Committee will meet immediately after the Planning Committee.

Community & Open Spaces - Community events are planned and delivered through this committee, as well as monitoring play park inspections to ensure safety at all times.               Meetings are held approximately once each month at 7pm unless scheduled on the same evening as a Planning Committee meeting.  When this happens the Community and Open Spaces Committee will meet immediately after the Planning Committee.

Personnel - The Personnel Committee meets as necessary to discuss all matters relating to staffing issues. Meetings are usually confidential due to the nature of the issues under discussion. Meetings are held as required.
