Seaton Beach

Seaton beach is formed by a large expanse of pebbles. An esplanade gives easy access along its length with a café and facilities at the western end.

There are no lifeguard facilities at this beach.

Fast currents flow out to sea where the River Axe meets the sea. Beware of boat traffic near the harbour entrance.

The beach is cleaned manually on a daily basis during the summer and monthly in the winter.

Dog bins are provided and dogs are welcome all year on the western end of the beach and the eastern end next to the Axe Yacht Club but are not allowed on the main central part of the beach from May 1st to September 30th.  Dogs must be kept on leads at all times when on the Esplanade.

Deckchairs are available to hire on the esplanade and there are also paddle boards and Kayaks for hire on the beach.

Toilets are available nearby including facilities for people with disabilities and there are cafés, restaurants, pubs and shops near the beach.

Parking along the seafront is free from 1st October to 1st April where hourly fees apply during the summer.

Beach Huts

East Devon District Council only rent sites on Seaton beach (East) and esplanade (West) and you would have to buy and erect your own hut. There is no electric here and water is supplied via a communal tap.

Once you have placed your name on the waiting list you may still have to wait approximately 6-8 years.

Four beach huts can be hired from Seaton Tourist Information Centre on a daily or weekly basis.  Please call 01297 300390 for prices and more details.
